Special thanks to Abby Lima! Please pardon my delay in updating the blog. There have been many transitions and creating new sweet treats have been the priority for Bean Sprinkle Arts. The Hello Kitty Super Cute Friendship Festival was so inspiring that a blog post had to be written! The event was so amazing being surrounded by many Sanrio characters in their world of cute and cuddly. The photo booths were interactive and the live show was enjoyable. Too bad not more of the Sanrio characters were there to celebrate. Bean Sprinkle Arts joined the My Melody Fashion Show and shared the Sweet Summer Collection 2015. The Sweet Summer Collection 2015 consists of pastel donut hair pins, Lollipop hairbow/pins, and mini Cupcake hats. All desserts are handmade and handsewn. Bean Sprinkle Arts felt at home with Hello Kitty and all her friends. It was a sad farewell to leave the event, but feeling hopeful to meet more Sanrio friends in the future!
As soon as Halloween ended, the Bean Sprinkle Arts studio cleaned up and un-boxed for christmas decorations! Two christmas trees are now standing in the living room and new sweets, and gingerbread houses are being touched up and in progress. This year's tree theme includes: a pale pink tree with blue, silver, and frosted white snowflakes. Special faux snowflake sugar cookies, silver painted pine cones, and a baby blue vanilla cupcake garland adorns the tree. Bean Sprinkle Arts had to include last year's tree, as it is so kawaii. The Dessert tree is back in full effect, with new chocolate pastel Glow in the Dark mini-cupcake ornaments and large powdered donut ornaments. Bean Sprinkle Arts just launched two newly finished Gingerbread houses on the Bean Sprinkle Arts Etsy shop. The Dark Chocolate Fudge Gingerbread house Bakery and Chocolate Dipped Heart Cookie Gingerbread House Cottage are now available for purchase. The Cottage has new Glow in the dark candy decorations. Bean Sprinkle Arts is also experimenting with different colored icing/frosting for the gingerbread houses. The rose icing is currently in progress and can be seen below: That's the christmas decoration updates for now. Bean Sprinkle Arts had the honor of creating party favors for Sharmaine Grace's 18th birthday celebration. 140 of these faux mini-cupcakes decorated the dinner tables, as well as surrounded the edible 3-layer birthday cake. At the end of the night, Sharmaine's guests were able to take these faux sweets home to remember the festivities forever. Kawaiiland SF was Bean Sprinkle Arts' first vending opportunity in the San Francisco Bay Area. The night was filled with meeting other talented artists creating kawaii goods, sharing ideas, witnessing a wonderful fashion show with fantastic makeup, and finding new supporters of faux dessert creations. Many thanks to Bean Sprinkle Arts' friends and family for supporting with event ticket sales and purchasing goodies. Another apology to all the hungry people who wanted to eat the faux cupcakes. Unfortunately Bean Sprinkle Arts does not know how to bake edible desserts. Please visit the new Bean Sprinkle Arts Etsy page to find all the products seen at Kawaiiland SF: https://www.etsy.com/shop/BeanSprinkleArts Hellokitty wreaths and faux gingerbread houses still available! The past couple months have been very productive and inspired. New product prototypes are in the works and will be made available in the store shortly. Items include: -Mini-donut bows/pins -Decorative Chocolate houses -Cannelles Bean Sprinkle Arts is also experimenting to find the best recipe for Sugar Cookie Ornaments for Christmas 2014. Moreover, the first try at a Donut wreath turned out rather well. Keep checking back in to see the latest creation. Bean Sprinkle Arts wants to give a bigger effort in creating faux desserts on a consistent basis. The recent Wonder Con in southern CA proved that faux macaroons are popular. But what about other types of desserts? New ideas are flowing and different materials are being ordered to help the creative process. This weekend was spent trying out new molds and materials. These photos are the results of the recent trial and errors. Perhaps these new faux desserts will be the centerpiece of a dessert/donut wreath? Or they could be a new set of ornaments? They can also become art of Sweet Lolita accessories? The possibilities are endless... The Gingerbread projectThe Bean Sprinkle Arts faux bakery relocated from Brooklyn, NY to the SF Bay Area in October of 2013. With the chaos of the cross country move, finding a new home, and setting up shop, Christmas 2013 came and went very quickly. This post it to record the artistic events that occurred at that time. Bean Sprinkle Arts found a new studio space and the faux bakery found a new dedicated workspace. As the holidays approached Bean Sprinkle Arts focused on personal tree decoration and gift giving for the family. These are some of the results: Family members who received these as gifts have encouraged Bean Sprinkle Arts to offer them for sale. Others can expect to see these on the site for Christmas 2014. The faux baking has begun and new dessert projects are underway.
